Christmas CaLEEfornia style!

CaLEEfornia was a success! Much thanks to Auntie Wilma and Uncle Charles who planned all the shenanigans and to Uncle Kenny and his family for housing a large portion of the clan.

For Summer '08 it's been decided that a contest is in order.
Prerequisites are being 20 years old and a desire to get svelt.

We didn't weigh in until after most of the Kims left, but we have:

Uncle Kenny - 216
Auntie Hae - 141
Auntie Swan - 133
Uncle Kev - 184
Auntie Wilma - 123
Elaine - 135
Jenny - ???
Jason - ???

Is anyone else interested?

The buy in is $20 and the pot goes to the biggest loser ( by % of body weight).

Final weigh in is in Provence!

hahah, maybe we should make this a % body fat competition instead of body weight??

and ditto! Thanks Cali Clan for an awesome vacay! Auntie Wilma! You did a great job keeping it exciting and physically challenging! ;)

Perhaps we should make this a % body fat loss vs. % body weight? It might be a bit better for encouraging excersize and toning up vs. starving oneself.

and also,l thanks to the cali clan for an awesome vacay!!!!!

Auntie Wilma you did a great job of planning a exciting and also physically challenging week of awesomeness!! ;)

How can we measure body fat loss?

I'm game if there is a home kit or something.

OR -% of target weight loss? This method would be best as it is an index value :) and all the 100% weight loss people are winners - and split the pot?

i will find a scale to measure myself, and i promise i've only done more eating and no exercising since leaving cali, so i haven't cheated on the weigh in.

also, shouldn't we publically own up to target weights?

Target weights sounds good. And everyone should vote on whether or not the target weight is realistic. You can't pick 1 lb loss or something like that.

We definitely need to post our target weights. Just add them as a comment here and I will edit the post to include target weights.

yo yo!

I know that they do have body fat scales. . .
http://www.healthchecksystems.com/scale.htm

but that might get too complicated because not everyone has access to one now.
either way should be a fun competition!

for target weights, yes i think we should publicly announce. . . unless there is a reason not too. . . .

what's the verdict?

maybe we should all pick target weights for each other hahaha. . . or use standard bmi index as a starting point . . . (keeping in mind that its not that accurate for asian people)
